The Asian Festival is a diverse, multicultural event representing the Salinas Chinatown Community near Soledad Street. We are proud of the commitment and hard work that the Chinese, Japanese, and Filipino communities provide to this annual event. As part of the Salinas Chinatown Renewal Project, the Asian Festival will take place on April 29, 2017. From the first beat of the Taiko Drum, Chinatown will be full of energy, conversation, discovery, great food and UNITY.

During the festival, the members of the Buddhist Temple, Confucius Church and Filipino Cultural Center will prepare delicious food, extend gracious hospitality and provide insight into our cultures. Visitors of the festival will enjoy Bonsai displays, Tai Chi and Tinikling demonstrations, historical exhibits, and guided temple tours. The designs of the Asian Museum and Cultural Center, another unique piece of the Salinas Chinatown Renewal Project, which will be built at the site of the Republic Café, will also be on display. Our committee relies on the ingenuity, creativity, and enthusiasm of the dedicated volunteers in making our annual event possible. Over 500 community members attended the Asian Festival last year, and we expect attendance to grow this year.

We invite your organization to partner with us in making this unique community festival successful by contributing to our fund-raising efforts. Any monetary donation is gratefully received, and 100% of the proceeds we raise go to the Asian Festival. For more information on how to contribute, please see the attached donor form.

Thank you again for your consideration of this request. For your records, the 2010 Asian Festival is an event presented by the Salinas Downtown Community Board, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, with Tax-ID 26-1470399. All donation checks should be written to the Salinas Downtown Community Board.
